Dawn M. Gentz

Dawn was a devoted wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She had a beautiful smile and a real zest for life. She married her soul mate Michael and started a family, two boys, Matt and Preston. She owned her own business, Perspective Eyecare in Belleville, MI. Her husband and boys always came first. She loved all of us unconditionally. She was a great listener and used that skill to help many people. Throughout the last 4 years of her up and down battle, she never let it show. Yes, in private I’m sure she was scared, but she never showed it to any of us. Her husband Michael was her rock and greatest supporter. She was the most optimistic person I have ever known. She spent time creating a blog, Defying Melanoma, and chronicled her journey. She had so many Facebook friends that she never met but supported her on this journey. Their tributes to her after her death spoke volumes for the person she had become. She was my daughter and my friend and she will be missed.
