Adam was born in Evansville, IN, on December 27, 1982, to Carliss Riffle and Richard Rust. He worked at Indiana State University in Terre Haute as a Custodial Supervisor for five years. Prior to that, he served more than ten years at the University of Southern Indiana. He was proud of his working career and accomplishments. Adam was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts, despite the start of their 2022 season. He could expertly recall detailed sports statistics and stories, ensuring that he always had something to talk about with a fellow sports fan. Adam grew up playing video games and loving all animals. He enjoyed watching Seinfeld on TV (for his fellow fans, “No soup for you!”) and eating extremely spicy food, especially at the Big Bang Mongolian Grill. When life presented Adam with roadblocks and setbacks, he was adamant about overcoming them – and time and time again, he did just that. His happiest moments were spent with his family, pets, and traveling. Most recently, he enjoyed a trip to Arizona with his mom and sister, where he was able to see many sites that brought him great joy. Adam was a loyal, kind, supportive, thoughtful, gentle and soft-spoken guy. When he was presented with a melanoma diagnosis, he approached it with courage, strength, and determination to beat it. To the end, he remained hopeful he would overcome.
