In August of 2020, I decided to see a dermatologist to check my skin since it hadbbeen 9 years since my last check. I have alot of moles and my boss was always talking about going to her dermatologist. During the August visit, I had a severely atypical mole removed from my left thigh that my than doctor wanted to check in on 6 months later. I came in for that appointment in Feb 2021 and all was well except the need for a biopsy of a changing mole on my back (noted from pictures taken in Aug 2020). Seven days later, I got a call from my doctor, it was Melanoma. A month later, I had a wide excision surgery and a confirmed diagnosis of Melanoma Stage 1A was made. Where would I be if I hadn’t decided to get checked out in August 2022?
