Johnny just lasted 15 months after his surgery for melanoma on his back. It was a heartfelt experience to see my strong self-reliant husband be taken so fast by melanoma. To show our ignorance of melanoma, we went to the doctor thinking he would remove the mole and we could be on our way. Wrong, wrong, wrong! It was a struggle to service each day from that moment on. One good thing, if there is considered a good thing with melanoma, Johnny didn’t hurt as most stories I read. He passed peacefully at home as he would have wanted. God rest his soul!
