Dad, Jeff, was diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer in mid-November 2002. After intense treatment for the first few months, Dad entered into a remission state for the following 2 years.
While in remission, Dad pursued his dream goal of owning a pulling tractor. Throughout the next 4 years, family and friends gathered numerous times a week to attend the tractor pulls and cheer on Dad. We spent every weekend together as a family and came to enjoy our time together. These were the happiest days of Dad’s life!
We took our last family vacation together at this time as well. We spent a week in Disney World riding the rollercoaster and visiting the venues. Dad loved rollercoasters because it allowed him to be a kid again.
Sadly, after 2 years in remission, Dad’s cancer returned never to leave him again. He fought a long, hard battle and turned into a true inspiration for all of us. Dad’s fight and motivation were nothing short of amazing. He was the best father any girl could ask for, teaching me to fight for my dreams and goals.
I want to send him only one message… Forever in our hearts, love you Dad!
