My mother was diagnosed in July 2006 with melanoma. She had a mole removed from her foot in September 2006. She underwent radiation and chemotherapy until January 2007 when her doctor found something else. All treatment was halted and she was sent to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. We found that the melanoma was spreading to other parts of her body. She had several surgeries and underwent an isolated limb profusion of her left leg. She was admitted to the hospital on July 6, 2007 and was released home on hospice on July 13, 2007. I made a promise to her that I would be at her side when she passed away and I fulfilled that promise. She took her last breath while I was holding her hand. My mother was a wonderful person and is missed very much by her family and friends.
